How is Light Used in Art?

Light is in multiple different forms of art. Stained glass is a great example of light in art because the glass bends the light to make different colors.  Artist Austine Wood Comarow works with pure polarized light passing through birefringent materials to create interactive and morphing images. This art form uses no pigments whatsoever, deriving prismatic colors purely from birefringence.
